Treasure Hunt Poem

Not far off the highway a treasure could be found
In the land where pine and fish abound

Listen to this challenge Fully and adventure will be yours
Completely read the poem as it leads to distant shores
Paddle through waters both small and vast
See a dam and signs of logging’s past
Not far from where there’s fuel to burn
You might make a lucky turn
Men of Courage toiled nearby we’re taught
Now anglers seek this pristine spot

A bit before Poets these two songs they sang
String them in order for fortune and fame
An angler’s name will help you begin
Pass through the channel if you want to win

A bird of legend has crossed this sky
So direct yourself where eagles fly
Just take out your map if you want to score
Advise your skip to draw to four
Think like a poacher but follow all rules
Always be safe there’s no room for fools

Don’t head towards the cedar shore
The tracks will guide your compass more
No sacred spot, no campsite stash
No need to dig to claim your cash

Respect the elders and what they teach
And soon the prize will be in reach
A wheel will help but not to haul
Think early spring, not dark nor fall

Tie your craft and mark your place
It lies nearby it’s not a race
Just keep your eyes upon the ground
There’s sure to be a treasure found
And let us know in Thunder Bay
For members there’s a double pay.
